Employment Opportunities

One of the core goals of the SPREE program is to create jobs along the South Platte River and create pathways to careers in environmental education. To that end, we offer the following jobs on continuous seasonal basis. When full time positions become available, we, whenever possible, promote from these seasonal positions.

South Platte River Ranger
The South Platte River Ranger position is designed for high school or college aged students over the age of 16. The River Ranger program is designed to introduce workers to careers in environmental education and natural resources. The position is a comprehensive 10 week program starting on June 7th and ending on August 15th.

SPREE Teacher
The seasonal teacher position is designed for individuals with at least a Bachelor's degree or experience in the field. Seasonal teachers lead small groups of kindergarten through fifth graders on educational excursions along the South Platte River. The fall season runs from August 18th to November 30th, and the spring season runs from February 19th to May 31st.
